Fisher on LSU: No Comment

Fisher said he does not talk about other coaching vacancies – and the LSU job is not vacant – out of fairness to all players involved.

“I don’t want to go there”, Miles said. However, Miles was absent his normal good humor and quirkiness.

“I have no comment”, Fisher stated.

Miles told local reporters Monday that “I’m not going to find myself watching TV or reading papers or doing anything but preparing our game plan”.

“At a few point there’s a “me” in this, but not while I’m coaching”.

National media pundits, while reporting possible buyouts and firings, were quick to take shots at LSU for the expected move.

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher refused to be drawn into speculation during his Monday press conference about taking over at LSU if the position were to become open.

Miles’ demise was cruelly swift and brutal. “This will always be about our players and the team”.

The loss to Alabama was not unexpected, but the ease at which the Tide pulled away after a tight first half was.

Yahoo! Sports’ Pat Forde also said LSU is “prepared” to party ways with Miles. We live in a what have you done for me lately kind of world, which Fisher called the “nature of the business” nowadays.

If Miles has anything going for him to remain at LSU, aside from his outstanding track record, it will be Fournette’s return and a strong 2016 recruiting class.

Like Miles, Fisher has already won a National Championship at his Power 5 school and may look to bring his brand of football to the SEC if these rumors end up becoming fact.

Fisher, who is 67-13 at Florida State, was an offensive coordinator under Miles and Nick Saban at LSU.

His team started 7-0 this season behind the success of star running back Leonard Fournette. LSU hadn’t lost three games in succession since 1999.
