Hillary Clinton makes campaign stop in Clinton Sunday
“Many family members, most often spouses and adult daughters, spend time out of the workforce, cut back on hours, or use personal days, vacation, and family time to provide needed care”, the Clinton campaign said in announcing the latest proposals.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks to the crowd at the Jenkins Orphanage in North Charleston, S.C., Saturday.
During a campaign rally here that drew close to 2,600 people, Sanders touted the bill, which is sponsored by Kirsten Gillibrand, Clintons successor as a senator from NY.
Her campaign, in turn, has recently attacked Sanders for his support of measures that would raise taxes on the middle class. Until recently, both camps had attempted to make a virtue of not talking about the other. She says would “break up the big banks” if necessary and hold top financial executives accountable.
“You know the deck is rigged, but we’ve got to reshuffle that deck”, Clinton said, speaking to the growing concern within her party’s base that the political and economic systems are skewed to benefit the rich and powerful.
She said she’s laying out how she will pay for all of of her proposals and future proposals as well.
Clinton was discussing the proposed changes at a meet-the-voters event on Sunday in Iowa, where she is trying to consolidate recent gains over Sanders in the polls. “He’s a teacher. He takes his mother to work with him”, she said at the Iowa Jefferson-Jackson dinner in October. Sanders has also made limited gains among non-whites and women.
Sanders says his plan would incorporate Medicare into a broader system intended to cover all Americans and wouldn’t mean the government would stop paying for seniors’ health care. Following the debate, Democrats indicated they overwhelmingly preferred Clinton to Sanders on foreign policy issues and handling ISIS.
She also spoke about her plan to improve the affordable care act, and rolled out her plan for a new tax edit. This measure also would need approval from Congress. “Now, Clinton is not only leading the race for the Democratic nomination, but has a solid majority saying, ‘She’s my choice.’ She wasn’t close to that before”, Selzer added.

After her speech, Clinton officially filed her paperwork as a candidate in South Carolina’s primary. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, according to his spokesman, reports the LA Times. By contrast, only 40% of Clinton backers in SC and a third in New Hampshire and Iowa believe Sanders is prepared to command the country’s armed forces.
