Quarterback issues and run defense have been the biggest problems for Texas A&M (7-3, 3-3 SEC West), which has dropped three of its last five games heading into Saturday night’s matchup with Vanderbilt (4-6, 2-4) in the Commodores’ home finale. “Not much stuff fazes me”.

The Aggies saw huge numbers early from Kyle Allen and a cast of former 5-star wide receiver prospects, but have lost three of their last four SEC games. “And our safeties and corners did a great job in coverage”. An abundance of bowl bids means that there’s a chance that a five-win Vandy team gets a postseason bid and the extra month of practices that go with it. Beating Texas A&M would be a huge win not just for 2015, but for this program’s development well into the future.

Vanderbilt has been shut out three times in the last 13 games, the most in a 13-game stretch since 1996. “Coming out in the second half, we never really got it going again”.

Ralph Webb led the Commodores with 79 rushing yards on 25 carries, giving the sophomore 1,003 yards on the ground this season. “We’re supposed to score points”. His defense ranked No. 16 nationally in total defense and No. 10 in scoring defense with an average of 19 points allowed per game.

Stat of the game: The shutout by Texas A&M is the Aggies’ first since 2004 when they shutout Wyoming and the first road shutout since 2002 (at Baylor). Missouri 5-6 14. SC 3-8 SEC Bowl Projections, Week 13, November 15 On the plus side for the conference, ten team are already bowl eligible including the entire West. Now the league needs a Missouri win over Arkansas or a Kentucky win over Louisville to add more to the mix, but as is, the main slots will be filled. That’s when the Aggies blanked Kansas State, 10-0.

That tied for the second longest TD pass in Texas A&M history. Vanderbilt came back punching by putting the ball in Kyle Shurmur’s hands, but the freshman’s first pass was picked off by De’Vante Harris and gave the Aggies another scoring opportunity.

The Dores defense held the Aggies out of the endzone, but not out of field goal range.
