A group in Harris County put on their 30th Thanksgiving food drive Friday and Saturday.

The bags packed Monday were already accounted for, but food bank workers said that those who need help feeding their family this Thanksgiving should contact them.
The Road Runner Food Bank focuses on making sure families have something to eat every day, not just during the holidays.
“Are you kidding…come play with your friends and help people, it was an easy sell”, Bennett said.
The St Mary’s Food Bank says they are still accepting donations of frozen turkeys for Christmas.
“I want to help people”, Bennett said.
For those in need of food, FOCUS packs up plastic bags with canned food items, apples and even a baking hen is given to you as you’re on your way out packing up your auto. As of Thursday, the food bank had 687 turkeys in storage, less than half of what operators expected to hand out for Thanksgiving.

The food box distribution will continue today and wrap up on Wednesday when Good Samaritan volunteers will also be making the ministry’s annual delivery of fully prepared holiday meals to homebound seniors and disabled adults.
