Apple may be giving every platform a run for its money with their straightforward pricing of $15 per month family plan and ability to add up to six members. Jay Z’s Tidal joined the ranks of its competitors, adding a family plan to the Premium and HiFi subscription tiers. However, with the future upgrades to come for Apple Music and Tidal, the competition will continue to stiffen for all music streamers.

However, Tidal is offering discounts for each new account registered underneath the primary user and those extra members can then manage their own music playlists and settings.

Streaming services looking to lower prices as a way to try and woo consumers into paying for their services could have consequences down the line as artists seek larger payouts streaming and freemium is slowly squeezed out by major labels who want their share to grow. It was generally random across the board, though Spotify fared slightly worse than Apple Music and Tidal overall.

If you are a Tidal Premium account holder adding members to your account would cost $4.99 per person in addition to the original $9.99 fee.
