India, Malaysia To Work Together On Defense And Security

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak jointly inaugurated the over United States dollars 1.1 million “Torana Gate” built by India and said it was not merely a piece of art on stone but connecting of two nations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived in Singapore from Malaysia on the second and last leg of his four-day visit to Southeast Asia.

He also said that the agreement to cooperate in cyber-security between the two countries was very important. It underlines our shared commitment to deal with our security challenges. I am confident that our strategic partnership will go to new level.

Earlier, both leaders had witnessed the signing of three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) involving Malaysia and India.

India and Malaysia on Monday agreed to enhance military exchanges through regular dialogue at various levels. Prime Minister Modi will also visit the Institute of Technical Education which offers course in vocational study in Singapore.

Malaysia and India will exchange lessons on delivering and monitoring public sector projects.

“India’s links with Malaysia are very old”, Modi said as he called on Razak to “work with renewed vigour” to maintain the momentum of the partnership between the two countries.
