The attack came shortly after Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli soldier at the Huwwara checkpoint south of Nablus, Israel’s army said.

The 16-year-old attacker was shot and killed by an Israeli police officer, while her 14-year-old accomplice was shot and wounded.
The Magen David Adom, Israel’s paramedic agency, says that 21 Israelis have been killed within the same period – a figure that also includes an Eritrean asylum seeker killed by a mob who misidentified him as an attacker. Nineteen Israelis and an American student have been killed in Palestinian stabbings, shootings and auto rammings.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a series of new security measures in the West Bank Monday in a bid to diminish a wave of attacks.
“Two female terrorists armed with scissors stabbed a man next to the (Mahane Yehuda) market”, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said.
CCTV footage showed one of the suspected attackers lunging at a man before being shot by police. A local West Bank settler leader, Gershon Mesika, said he noticed the ruckus and veered his vehicle off the road and hit the woman.
The attack occurred in an area known to Israelis as Samaria Junction and to Palestinians as Hawwara Junction.
A 27-year-old bystander was lightly wounded in the attack, apparently from bullet shrapnel, police said, according to AP. It said an 18-year-old Palestinian woman was critically wounded in the incident, but had no further details.
The talks will be focused on “stopping the violence in Israel, Jerusalem and the West Bank”, and on Syria and Islamic State.
Hadar Bucharis of Safed, a city in northern Israel, was stabbed on Sunday afternoon at the Gush Etzion Junction, near the West Bank settlement of Alon Shvut.
US Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled to fly to Abu Dhabi on Sunday, and then visit Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Ramallah, the US State Department announced Saturday.
Netanyahu said he had ordered security forces to “coordinate their efforts in the Hebron district, from which most or all of the attacks are originating”.

The attack appeared to be part of a two-month spree of violence ignited by tensions surrounding a sensitive Jerusalem holy site. It is to be his first visit to the area in in a year. Israel says a large number of those died while carrying out attacks against Israelis.
