LeBron James has high praise for coach David Blatt

Tristan Thompson appeared in his 300th straight regular-season game with the Cavs, joining Jim Chones (361), Austin Carr (351) and Danny Ferry (301) as the only players in franchise history to reach 300 in a row.

Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap each scored 14 points for Atlanta, which has lost four of five. “When you think you were in the right position or when you think you were playing hard or you think you did the right thing, it will tell you right then and there”.

Dellavedova kept the ball moving in Williams’ absence, then starting center Timofey Mozgov missed the second half Thursday with a strained right shoulder, forcing the little-used Varejao into key minutes.

IN made it five wins from six by routing Milwaukee 123-86, with CJ Miles scoring a season-high 21 points for the Pacers. Mozgov, who has been slowed by a problematic right knee, will be re-evaluated Friday and could have an MRI or X-ray. “We have to share the ball offensively, get the ball popping, defend at a high level and not turn the ball over”. He’s attempting more threes than he ever has before and shooting a respectable 33 precent from deep, and his free-throw percentage has improved by 10 points over last season’s mark. Greg Monroe scored 17 points, and Khris Middleton added 15 for Milwaukee.

After blowing a 13-point second-half lead in its 104-99 loss in Detroit on Tuesday, Cleveland attempted to improve itself by taking a step away from the court. “We’re first on the court, ready for tip, and when they (opponent) look over there after they do their huddle, it sends a message that they’ve got to be ready to rumble”.

They weren’t true games of 1-on-1 in the sense that only one dribble was allowed per possession, thus rendering James’ significant size advantage moot as he couldn’t simply back Irving down with his dribble and post him up.

Cavaliers coach David Blatt joked that James thought he was playing hockey and subbed himself out like he was playing for the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL or the NHL’s NY Rangers.

Both Blatt and James acknowledged, in their own ways, that it’s hardly time to panic.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks will be squaring off tonight in their first matchup against each other this season. “I think J-Kidd definitely does a good job of putting him in lineups where he can have a mistmatch, and so he’s all over the floor”.

James asked teammates about the idea last week, and it’s gone over well.

Blatt went on to praise James, saying the 13th-year pro is all about “winning championships”. But there were bad habits developing they want to squash now rather than later.
