National Football League investigates why Rams’ Keenum not tested for concussion

St. Louis’s backup quarterback Nick Foles put his helmet on and began warming up, but a wobbly Keenum managed to stand up and stay in the game.

Notes: Rams RT Andrew Donnal left the game early in the second quarter with an unspecified knee injury. However, Baltimore could only manage a 25-yard field goal by Tucker and trailed 7-3 at the break. That turned out to be the Rams’ last offensive play of the game.

“I’m just disappointed that he missed the bus for whatever reason”, Fisher said. Never having missed a game, the Ravens will have to finish the remainder of the season without him, and without running back Justin Forsett.

The other major injury that will linger into the offseason is the broken arm of Justin Forsett. This time, Baltimore pressured him for much of the game, forcing him to throw errant passes.

In the case of what happened in Baltimore, Fisher said, “You can not under these circumstances place blame on anybody”.

Sherman’s point needs to be reinforced: Despite the league’s efforts to purportedly make the game safer through rule changes and heads-up tackling techniques, the all-in, hyper-aggressive nature of football players is still alive and well because it creates wins.

“We definitely want to take them out of play and keep an eye on them so they don’t go back in before it’s too soon”, Dr. Douglas Smith, who runs the Center for Brain Injury and fix at the University of Pennsylvania, said of players with concussions. While Flacco does occasionally surprise people with his speed and athleticism on scrambles, he only has 13 rushes for 23 yards this year.

Flacco moved the Ravens to the 29 – injuring his knee along the way – before Tucker delivered the game-winning kick.

Here’s the play, second-and-10 at the Rams’ 41-yard line.

Fisher said the injury spotter did call down to check on Keenum after the lost fumble, or when the Rams defense had gone back on the field.

Two plays later, Keenum lobbed a 30-yard touchdown pass to tight end Lance Kendricks to extend the Rams’ lead to 13-3 with 6:14 left in the third quarter.

Could the Baltimore Ravens be reuniting with their preseason superhero Bryn Renner?

“It’s a fantastic achievement for the Ravens franchise quarterback, but the reality is this is football”.

Keenum wasn’t tested for a possible concussion after taking a hit by Ravens defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan.

No one, including head coach John Harbaugh, knew the severity of the injury until after the game, Flacco said he felt “a lot of crunches” when he took that hit, but he didn’t know what he had injured. The Super Bowl MVP quarterback started all 122 of the Ravens” regular season games since “08, and also played in each of their 15 playoff games, including the 2012-’13 Super Bowl.
