Man arrested in New Orleans shooting video
Surveillance video shows what unfolded after the med student witnessed a man, now identified as Cain, dragging a woman to his auto.

Seconds later, Peter Gold, 25, a fourth-year Tulane medical student, drove up and “stepped out of his vehicle to intervene”, said Lt. Nick Gernon of the New Orleans Police.
Police said they arrested Euric Cain, 21, about 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Delachaise Street.
Cain will be charged with armed robbery, second-degree kidnapping and attempted first-degree murder, police say.
In the video, Gold can be seen driving up. Police say Cain demanded money from Gold, who told him he didn’t have any.
Police said that the woman involved in the incident is cooperating with investigators and they don’t believe she had any relation to Cain.
Gold was also an undergraduate student at Tulane, and his parents and sister attended the school, as well, Fitts said.
Tulane is offering a $10,000 reward.
Tulane spokesman Mike Strecker released a statement Monday (Nov. 23) on behalf of the Gold family, regarding Peter Gold’s condition.
Gold survived the shooting and remains in critical condition, police said Sunday. New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison praised Gold, according to local CBS News affiliate WWL: “There’s no greater selfless act than to stop and help someone perhaps who you don’t know, for reasons you don’t know”.
The suspect then grabbed the woman’s purse and fled the scene, authorities said. Gold collapsed to the ground, and the gunman pointed his gun at his head and pulled the trigger three times.
Cain had been arrested recently for stealing a cell phone and has also faced past stolen vehicle and weapons charges, Harrison said.
“I saw the guy fall and I saw him stand over him and attempt to shoot him in the face a couple of times”, the man said. A $12,500 reward has been offered.
” We worked around the clock to get him off the streets and now he will likely spend the rest of his life in jail, as he should”, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu added.
Two women were found inside the Uptown house along with Cain.

“I am shocked and saddened by this horrific event”, Fitts said.
