Malaysian PM Najib Razak says, Narendra Modi is a man of action

On the MoU on Cooperation in Project Delivery, PM Modi said, “I am happy that we are strengthening our excellent cooperation in Public Administration and Governance”.

Modi and Najib then proceeded for a four-eyed meeting to review both countries’ existing relations and cooperation as well as to identify potential areas of the Strategic Partnership established between the two countries in October 2010.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today held bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Seri MohdNajib bin Tun Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

India and Malaysia on Monday signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cyber security.

Najib said his Indian counterpart had presented to Malaysia “a lot of exciting possibilities” for local companies and corporations to explore in India.

Malaysia wants to learn from India on managing infrastructure projects like highways and high-speed railways, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said.

Of Malaysia’s total population of 30 million, around two million are people of Indian origin.

“Our agreement to cooperate in cyber security is very important”.

Modi and Lee noted their shared interest in furthering cooperation in the areas of science and technology, particularly in space, biomedicine and ayurveda, the spokesperson tweeted.

While Mr Modi last visited Singapore in March to attend the State Funeral of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, this is his first official visit to Singapore, where both sides will elevate ties to the level of a strategic partnership.

“India’s links with Malaysia are very old”, Modi said as he called on Razak to “work with renewed vigour” to maintain the momentum of the partnership between the two countries.

The Malaysian Prime Minister also hailed Narendra Modi, calling him a “Man of Action”.

Let me say how deeply we value our relations with Malaysia.

The agreement on cultural exchange aims “to strengthen friendship between the two countries and further develop their cultural exchanges and cooperation by way of visits of delegations at various levels and troupes, organising art exhibitions, participation of scholars and experts in conferences etc”.
