Clinton will also call for caregivers to earn credit toward their Social Security retirement benefits when they are not working, and propose investing $100 million over 10 years in a grants program for family caregivers.
Clinton’s proposal is the latest part of an effort by her campaign to focus on tax breaks for the middle class. Clinton pitched a tax cut aimed at curbing high health care costs on Friday in Tennessee. “Clinton believes that it is time to reform our tax policies, Social Security system, and work-family policies, to support paid and unpaid caregivers and to recognize their fundamental contributions to families and to America”. Bernie Sanders of promoting programs that she says would raise taxes on middle-class families, including his plan for a single-payer health system based on Medicare.
The cost of her plan would be $10 billion over 10 years, the campaign says.
Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton proposed a new tax break for caregivers.
Clinton spoke to more than 400 people at a town hall meeting here, a one-stop campaign trip to Iowa where she is leading in the three-person race for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
“We feel very confident about Hillary Clinton’s capacity to fight, win and deliver for working people”, SEIU worldwide President Mary Kay Henry said in an interview immediately following the endorsement vote. Many don’t know enough about O’Malley to say.
Eighty-four percent in Iowa say Clinton is ready and 60 percent say so about Sanders.
“In this environment, she’s been able to stake out a more hawkish position”, Preble said. But no one listening to the debates among the Republicans – the ones who used to represent big business and finance – can doubt that their nominee will mount a populist campaign against Wall Street and against Clinton.
After the former secretary of state said she plans to reveal a comprehensive strategy to tackle the terrorist organization, hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan turned the conversation to Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
Clinton went on to talk about how she gave advice to her husband, former President Bill Clinton, during his administration from 1993 to 2001. He also says he sees an improvement from last election cycle concerning the enthusiasm surrounding her campaign.
“I think there is more voter connection and more enthusiasm this time around”, Melvin said.
She said she’s laying out how she will pay for all of of her proposals and future proposals as well.
