Eventually, we get a few showers Friday night.

Thanksgiving is expected to be dry but cold, with high temperatures in the mid 50s. Temperatures may barely reach into the 40s for the lowlands, with wind chills dipping into the teens and 20s for many areas. After that, however, the return moisture from the Gulf will obscure our skies with clouds as a strong, multi-faceted storm system approaches.

In addition to the the rain, extremely high tides, known colloquially as “King Tides”, could cause localized flooding in low-lying areas along the water on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, officials said. Outlook is for showers on Tuesday. Black ice may lead to travel issues starting Friday morning lasting through Saturday as precip chances will continue through Saturday night and temperatures remain cold.

It’s dry and cooler by Saturday and Sunday with highs down into he mid 40s. The sunshine will be nice, but that will be a pretty cold start to the Thanksgiving week. The wind will stay light and variable.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures will be around for Wednesday, with a high temperature of 57 degrees.

Tonight: Clear, chilly. Low temperatures in the upper 30s Lakes to the between 40 and the lower 40’s Triangle.

The previously mentioned Arctic air mass will come with snow and blowing snow Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. South wind around 8 miles per hour. Always check the latest Bar Reports before you venture offshore.
