Conor McGregor “5 days and I pull the trigger”.

Conor McGregor is the main attraction of UFC 189, especially now that pound-for-pound king Jose Aldo has withdrawn from the bout because of a rib injury suffered in training.

“What happened was I got a phone call from a person in the UFC“, McGregor told the interviewer.

“He’s the type of fighter, he loves to stand and strike”, Mendes observed.

On the last Mendes/Aldo fight: “The last fight was razor close”.

The normally cocky MMA fighter was visibly shaken as he explained that he had hoped to spend more time with his young fan.

Now that Aldo is hurt, McGregor has predictably pounced. “Rip him limb from limb”.

“It’s my focus”, MacDonald said Thursday. “History is being repeated, followed and honored”.

Meanwhile, keep an eye out for both Waldo and Aldo at UFC 189, one of them will have to show. “So let’s find out”.

“This is f***ing awesome, it’s time to take what’s mine”, said Mendes. “Conor’s never faced anyone like me before”. “Here’s what sucks for him, when he does lose, you know how many people are going to be on his butt?” I finish fights. I have power, speed.

“So I rang the kid and we talked for a long, long time”. “It re-motivated me, most importantly, refocused me on mixed martial arts”. Conor will cross that line, too.

Rogan’s concern regarding McGregor is similar to most. Looking back on the fight, the now 25-year-old British Columbia native says he wasn’t as focused and sharp as he needed to be for a fight of that magnitude against an opponent as skilled and experienced as Lawler.

“Before that, I was like ‘I just want this to be over, ‘” MacDonald said. “He beat me and did exactly what he said he was going to do”.

LOS ANGELES ” Although Conor McGregor is an undeniably vicious puncher, heavy hands alone didn’t get him a title shot and a headlining pay-per-view spot in just his sixth UFC fight.

Coverage of the main event begins at 10 p.m. ET on pay-per-view (PPV).
