Pebble Time Gets iOS Text Reply Feature
If you wanted to be able to reply text messages on your iPhone via your Pebble Time smartwatch, you would not be able to previously as this feature seemed to be exclusive to the Apple Watch. Which enables Pebble iOS users to now reply to messages using their voice. Only those who have a post-paid plan with AT&T will benefit from this closed beta at the moment, with more retailers to be added after the beta phase ends. In any case the update to the Pebble Time companion app and the firmware for your watch should already be available, so update them if you’d like to check this feature out. But it is important to take note that messages that were sent through the watch, either voice-to-text or simple predefined messages, will not appear on the iOS application found on the phone itself. The company is working to allow further carriers and services to offer actionable notifications for more users. (It also means that replies to iMessages will be sent as SMS messages, so the recipient will see a green bubble instead of blue.) The feature also does not now work with group messages. So if you’ve got a Pebble Time on your wrist and an iPhone connected to AT&T in your pocket, maybe give the feature a try.

Time is the latest version of the smartwatch from Pebble and it even comes in a special round version. Aside from the (obviously) different form factor, the Round is considerably thinner and lighter than any Pebble to date, and one of the thinnest smartwatches ever built.

Pebble is also hosting a Black Friday sale on its own site, bringing the original Pebble to $69.99 USD, the Pebble Time to $129.99 USD, and the Pebble Time Steel to $199.99 USD.
