November 23 – Toys For Tots

It’s the season of giving, but because of the budget impasse fewer people might be able to give. The office launched its toy drive for Toys for Tots on November 23.

The donated gifts must be new, unwrapped toys, said Jordan, show added there is no price range for donated presents.

“It’s kind of sad they need the help over here to help them to get through this time”. “It’s a time to give back because we know there is a lot of need this time of year and we are proud here at the department to do what we can to help children in our community”. Past year the program distributed 16.8 million toys nationwide to more than seven million children.

The department is taking part in the Toys for Tots program, collecting new toys through December. “The U.S. Marines have built a tremendous program with Toys for Tots, and our employees, agents and their clients appreciate-and enjoy-the opportunity to share the holiday spirit with children who might not receive anything otherwise”.

You can drop off toys at a number of collection locations right now throughout Michiana wherever you see Toys for Tots collection bins. For example – if supporters buy a $25 Starbucks card, they get $25 worth of coffee and Toys For Tots gets $10.

Community members were encouraged to come out and watch the game, but also to bring a toy donation for the Marines Toys for Tots program. The foundation provides the funding and support needed for the annual toy collection and distribution campaigns.
