You may have noticed that the dialer shortcut on your Android 6.0 lock screen has been replaced with a shortcut to Google Now. With each new Nightly build that gets released you will see better performance and a much more stable Android environment.

Motorola has kept mum regarding the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow build to the 2014 Moto E device whether or not the software will hit it. This brought hullaballoo in the tech department last October and continued to be in the hot seat nearly two months after.

The announcement came with a number of notifications and recommendations also, since the nightly release of the OS is an experimental one, so it won’t deliver the 100% real Marshmallow experience. Users who have taken unofficial CM13 source code, or used a version found in the XDA community, CyanogenMod advises that you wipe your device before attempting to flash the official CM13 nightlies.

A slew of recent screenshots by user LlabTooFeR on Twitter suggested the handset with the MMB29K build will be the first to receive the Android 6.0.1 update.

CyanogenMod explains that there will be a noticeable dip in quality if you decide to flash the CM13 nightly on to your compatible device, and that the wait shouldn’t be too long for the “official” SNAPSHOT CM13 release is pushed. However, there is good news with the development of a custom ROM for the device. This might also be one factor to be considered why the device’s upgrade to Marshmallow lags behind since it might still get a taste of the Android 5.1 Lollipop.

There’s a lot of excitement among Android One users but for now they’ll have to do with only a few minor changes like stability improvements, bug fixes and a few tweaks here and there unless more features are added in future.
