Lacy getting strong at right time

Of course not. Are they the best team in the NFC?

Munnerlyn pointed to the Vikings getting walloped at San Francisco 20-3 in the nationally televised season opener on Monday Night Football. “They did a great job of containing us as a group”, Peterson said. “You’ve got to be able to win when the whole world is watching”, cornerback Captain Munnerlyn said.

Sit: Davante Adams. Davante Adams did not have the big game I expected him to have against the Vikings.

For a team that prides itself on discipline, the Vikings had none of it on Sunday. A season sweep over the Bears, who they beat in the opening game of the season, would push them further into the playoff picture. But he missed Green Bay’s previous game with a groin injury and had only 78 yards on 33 carries in the past four games. During his first three games of the month, the quarterback averaged less than 6 yards per attempt while completing just 56.5 percent of his passes, hardly numbers commensurate with his status as the reigning MVP.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was not a happy camper after the Vikings’ five-game winning streak was snapped in a 30-13 loss to the Packers at home Sunday. When he did have a chance to redeem himself, he fumbled.

Rodgers finished with 333 passing yards on 35-of-61 completions with two touchdowns against the Lions, but the Packers lost the game 18-16. Not to mention, Eddie Lacy had a big game, despite the struggles he’s had this season with injuries.

“We just couldn’t get it going for whatever reason… couldn’t keep anchored and keep Rodgers on the sideline like we game planned”, Peterson said.

There is plenty the Vikings can do better.

“This team you saw play today, it wasn’t us”.

After Sunday’s embarrassment at TCF Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings are still firmly entrenched in the NFC playoff picture, though their position isn’t almost as nice as it was at this time last week.

“I don’t know why people are acting we lost 10 games in a row or something”, Newman said.

“It’s kind of rough sometimes they give me a hard time sometimes because i’m usually the only one in here in purple”, said Cortney Erchul, a Vikings fan.

“We know what we did the first six weeks of the season”, said Green Bay receiver James Jones. This was an important week for us, we stuck together.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Rodgers rolled right on third-and-9 and zinged the ball to Jones at the edge of the end zone for a 27-yard score on. Rodgers can’t realistically expect Jones to have the six receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown every weekend like he did in this game, but this was the type of performance that was very much needed from the veteran of the receiver group. The onus was on the Packers defense this week to step up against a surging Minnesota Vikings rival – on the road – and help stop the bleeding from the past three losses. The Vikings answered with a 47-yard touchdown reception by tight end Kyle Rudolph, the longest touchdown of his career. How’d he get through the roughest stretch of his football life, a time when his ability and dedication were called into question?

The offense was productive too.

“I think everything for us was working tonight”, Linebacker Julius Peppers said. Minnesota’s defense routinely bailed out the Packers with penalties and failed to produce a single turnover. I bought into the hype, or as Mike Zimmer would say, I “took the cheese” like a mouse caught in a trap.
