Good news? Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday will be snow-free.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm watch for much of southwestern Idaho just in time for Thanksgiving.
Meteorologist Jonathan Suk of Great Falls says 3 to 6 inches of snow will fall at lower elevations. Along with the snow will come strong gusty wind, meaning that blowing and drifting snow is possible with blizzard like conditions over passes.
Expect sunshine and a high in the lower 50s today.
Temperatures Tuesday night could fall to the lower 20s with northeast winds gusting to as high as 28 miles per hour onWednesday morning. But Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Americans should keep to their holiday plans.
Temperatures will likely drop into the upper 30s at the San Francisco global Airport late this week and a new daily record low may be set on Friday morning (current record is 37 degrees).
Temperatures will also tumble when the Thursday storm hits.
“On the backside of the storm where colder air wraps in, there will be some snow across parts of Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska and back into the central Rockies”, continued Travis.

The warning goes into effect at 11 am Tuesday and ends at 11 pm Wednesday. Freezing drizzle and light snowfall are anticipated across western Kansas.
