Eagles back to practice a day after lopsided loss at home

He was driven down on it after a strip-sack.

Although the likelihood of Sam Bradford starting on Thursday isn’t that high with the coaches probably deferring to Mark Sanchez, something has to be said about changing the momentum of Philidelphia’s play if they want to see their season finish off on a high note.

Sam Bradford, the first overall pick in 2010, was traded from the Rams to the Eagles last spring after an injury-riddled five seasons in St. Louis. X-rays on the shoulder came back negative, per insider Tim McManus. “But we are all good”.

“I don’t know, I really don’t know”, Shurmur said before Tuesday’s practice about Bradford’s availability against the Lions. He admitted that it feels sore, especially when he has “to be aggressive and let it loose”.

He was then asked when he and head coach Chip Kelly plan to decide. “I really don’t know”.

Something else to consider: Bradford said this was his third concussion and that he experienced some memory loss with this one.

Bradford remains a bit of a mystery during a career marred by injury, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during 2013 and again before the 2014 season.

“It’s just how it progresses from now until game time”, Bradford said after Tuesday’s walkthrough. “We’ve already done that with our preparation, so from that standpoint, we’re ready to roll”, Sanchez said.

“That’s just two guys, two very competitive guys in Darren and Mark and they’ve patched it up”, Kelly said. “I was proud of the way we did that last week”.

“We’re going to get one ready to go and make a decision”. “I hope I’m out there”, Bradford said.

Late last night, Jeff McLane reported on an anonymous Eagle who had this to say about Murray: “Well, when you see DeMarco sliding before getting hit, you tell me”. One year later and it’s obvious the roster assembled by Kelly is unable to compete with any NFC team.

Bradford added that it wouldn’t be the game plan that would keep him out. “When Tom Brady yells at Julian Edelman and they win the game it’s ‘what a competitor the quarterback is.’ If it happens when you’re losing, it’s in-fighting”. Sanchez’ demonstrative reaction may have been the result of three interceptions on the day, but on this particular interception Sanchez explained that he expected Sproles to continue to run through the screen pass, but Sproles expected Sanchez to throw the ball directly, instead of being led.

Sanchez added that it doesn’t matter when he is told he will be the starter, whether it’s on the flight to MI or an hour before kickoff.

“Everybody has their own path and I understand that”, Stafford said.

However, running back Ryan Mathews remains in concussion protocol.
