Islamic State has published an image of the homemade explosive device it claims downed a Russian passenger plane in Egypt’s Sinai region in late October, killing all 224 passengers on board.

The photo, which appeared in ISIS publication Dabiq, is of a Schweppes Gold soft drink can and what appeared to be a detonator and switch for an improvised explosive device.
Additionally, the magazine published a photo of passports it claimed belonging to the Russian victims “obtained by the mujahideen”.

It said it had smuggled the bomb onto the Russian plane after finding a security loophole at Sharm al-Sheikh airport.
