Big 12 Lunch Links: It’s Bedlam Week in the Big 12

A win over previously undefeated Oklahoma State kept the Bears (9-1, 6-1) in the Big 12 race, and depending on the outcome of other games around the nation, maybe still in position for a playoff spot.

Baylor suffered its first loss of the season at home to Oklahoma a week ago, but don’t put much of the blame on Stidham. Even if OSU loses Bedlam, the hype going into next season will be silly, and the battle between TCU, Baylor, OU, and OSU could be even more epic than this year.

Briles said Stidham is hurting and questionable for the TCU game next Friday.

Other highlights include the Oklahoma game in Dallas on October 8 and a home game against Baylor on October 29. On the ground Baylor was tremendous, allowing the Cowboys just to gain eight rushing yards on the night.

We probably knew that the Arkansas game wouldn’t be the first game of the year (it’s the second on September 10th) so getting the feet wet against South Dakota State (September 3rd) will more than likely benefit the Horned Frogs as they graduate into a post-Boykin era.

“I thought our guys fought”. “That’s inspiring. You’re always one or two plays away from being in the game”. He is averaging 20.5 yards on his 40 catches.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys look to get their 11th victory and win the Big 12.

No. 14 Florida State at No. 10 Florida. Baylor rushed for 304 yards.

Ohio State (10-1, 6-1) managed just 132 yards total offense.

Rudolph did his best to lead the Cowboys back. And despite a big win on the road that featured a third-string quarterback and a defense that forced seven consecutive Oklahoma State punts, Briles understands that a full statement will be made over the next two weeks.

“We do like the fact that it’s late in the season, and we’re still in the hunts – with an s”, coach Art Briles said Monday. With 2:10 left to play, Johnson got a touchdown of his own on a 4-yard run. KD Cannon turned five receptions into 210 yards as Baylor atoned for a 44-34 loss to Oklahoma last week.

The Johnson-to-Cannon TD gave the Bears a 38-14 cushion.

Oklahoma State has climbed so high and reached such a long way – this season, yes, but also throughout Mike Gundy’s tenure. This time, there would be no comeback. Even worse, Baylor ran the ball 73 times. By halftime of that game, the Cowboys had a 28-9 advantage. If Baylor and OSU win, Baylor will be the champs, assuming they dispatch the Longhorns in Waco to close their season.

Since taking over for Russell, Stidham had thrown for 12 touchdowns and ran for two scores.

The Cowboys responded with two quick TDs.

J.W. Walsh found Jalen McCleskey for a 3-yard touchdown to cap a 10-play, 77-yard drive that cut the deficit in half.

Oklahoma State – not Oklahoma, not Nebraska, not Texas, not a blue-chip program – should have played for the 2011 national title.

Add Baylor to the list.

Both players were honored with a conference weekly award for the first time.

Does OSU have another “Cardiac Cowboys” effort in them?

On top of that, both Baylor and TCU now have some glaring gaps in their star-studded rosters. James Washington and David Glidden have combined for 1,691 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns while Marcell Ateman has 38 receptions. Johnson completed 5 of 10 passes for 138 yards and ran for 42 yards. Towards the end of the second quarter against Oklahoma State, Stidham began limping. Yet they staged a furious fourth-quarter rally to pull within one point with 51 second remaining. The most Oklahoma State’s defense has defended this season is 110 against TCU.
