Orbiting around the titular Sorcerer Supreme, Marvel has appointed The Hobbit and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch to portray the brilliant neurosurgeon who inadvertently stumbles upon a hidden dimension after a horrific accident.
Marking the beginning of a global shoot, the studio outlined some of the locations that will play host to Doctor odd over the coming weeks and months, including London, New York, Hong Kong and Kathmandu, Nepal.
Production has officially begun on “Doctor Strange” and Marvel has confirmed the cast of the Phase 3 film set to premiere next fall.
Scheduled to hit theaters November 4, 2016, Doctor odd is scripted by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, Passengers) and directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Deliver Us From Evil).
Marvel’s Doctor odd is produced by Kevin Feige with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Charles Newirth, Stephen Broussard and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

Regardless, Doctor unusual is an important film as it finally brings Marvel into the realm of mysticism for the first time, and I’m curious to see what Derrickson does within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the announcement, the studio has also revealed the movie’s official cast list, along with a synopsis. On July 17, Marvel released “Ant-Man”, which has grossed to date over $518million worldwide. After two films in 2016, Marvel will release three films a year in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
