The 21-year-old’s latest album, “Purpose”, is now No. 1 on Billboard’s December 5 200 chart – making this his sixth No. 1 album on Billboard 200.
The star, who’s promoting his new album goal, sent a thank you tweet to Colbert, which read: ‘@StephenAtHome, thank you for the understanding as sometimes life kicks our ass and we need to deal with it. I will see u soon. Talk about a killer comeback!
To recall, Bieber was also slammed when he wore a Metallica T-shirt on “The Ellen Show”.
The singer’s new album objective, which includes such hits as What Do You Mean? and Sorry, clocked 205 million streams globally on Spotify, and 77 million in the US alone for the first week of its release.
Billboard’s previous projection came into fruition as Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” album crushed One Direction’s “Made in the A.M.” album in the first week of its release. On the other hand, as the L.A. Times points out, Justin Bieber may have had the upper hand for sales because he had not put out an entire album in several years.
Bieber’s performance of “Sorry”, one of the songs from his new album “Purpose”, was believed to be one of the highlights at the star-studded event.
Rapper Logic debuts at #3 with The Incredible True Story, which is his highest chart position ever.
Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, has defended Justin Bieber after the singer became the target of online backlash for wearing a Nirvana t-shirt to the American Music Awards over the weekend. One feat that Justin hasn’t been able to take from the Fab Four is that they are still the only artists in history to have captured the top five spots on the chart.
