Bailey, 25, suffered non-life threatening injuries, but has to undergo surgery, reports said. He had 12 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown in the first eight games.

However, NFL.com reported that Bailey was shot twice while sitting in a auto with family.

He played his college ball at West Virginia, and had a record-setting junior season in 2012 before entering the draft.

Citing sources, Wilson added the “current outlook is now more optimistic for Stedman Bailey after initial fear of life-threatening gunshot wound to head”.

Shooting of Stedman Bailey happened in South Florida where he’s from.

Bailey has been serving a four-week NFL-imposed suspension for violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Bailey was shot in an incident in Miami, Fla.

Steelers running back LeVeon Bell, Raiders guard Jonathan Feliciano and Rams teammate Greg Robinson took to Twitter to express their concerns over Bailey’s well-being.
