Messi back, Barca thrash Roma

Real Madrid hasn’t beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou in a league game since 2012. Neymar and Luis Suarez (who both scored on Saturday in the first half) have been playing like the best players in the league in Messi’s absence.

Suarez cracked a fine volley from the edge of the area a minute before halftime and after the restart Messi squared for Pique to slot the ball home.

“On Saturday we played at a very high level, but we can still improve on that”, he said at a pre-match press conference.

Barca top the group on 13 points, with Bayer Leverkusen (five points), Roma (five) and BATE (four) all chasing second. “Messi has recovered, his injury is but a distant memory”. “Leo, Neymar and myself are team players and we look to help the team”. “For us the good news arrived before the match”.

“The draw between Borisov and Leverkusen leaves fate in our hands”. Can you imagine how unstoppable Barcelona is going to be once Messi regains his form back in the lineup?

Do yourself a favour and watch that Messi goal, because my goodness, that might just be the team move of the century. “We’ve got to turn things around from the next game and tonight were against an extraordinary team”, Sabatini told Mediaset Premium.

“This is still the first third of the season”.

“For us it won’t change much in terms of the table if we draw or lose”.

Barca then took the lead when Dani Alves surged down the right to latch on to Neymar’s excellent precision pass and squared for Suarez, who tucked the ball into an empty net at the far post. Defender Javier Mascherano (thigh) is a doubt while Rafinha (knee) is definitely out.

Luis Suarez seemed to have been in a state of daze, as he suggested that it was a bad day in office for the Madrid players as nearly every mistake was punished by FC Barcelona, but was careful enough not to sound too sympathetic as he warned his teammates of complacency.

Barcelona continued the party after the break, with two quick fire goals from Gerard Pique and Messi.

Dzeko also had a penalty saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the 82nd after being fouled by Thomas Vermaelen but got the Italian side a consolation goal just before the final whistle.
