The holiday shopping season traditionally starts with “Black Friday” – once a term reserved exclusively for the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Cyber Monday, the first Monday after Thanksgiving, may see the biggest turnout.

“Pundits for a while now have been dismissing Cyber Monday, with headlines in recent years declaring it “obsolete” or event a “myth.”…I believe Cyber Monday will continue to grow at a healthy clip for years to come”, Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and the company’s mobile division, said in a blog post this week. Toys “R” Us also will launch its Cyber Monday deals Sunday evening.

The Monday after Thanksgiving offers equally lucrative sales with the added perk of not having to leave your home to make a purchase.
