Sonia Braga cast as Soledad Temple in Marvel’s Luke Cage
Eventually, Cage (Mike Colter) will team up with Daredevil, Jones, and the uncast Iron Fist, culminating with a “The Defenders” mini-series about a group of heroic and self-sacrificing characters, the Hollywood Reporter noted.

Here’s what you need to know about Marvel’s “Luke Cage”.
Marvel’s third Netflix drama is adding a key role.
Looking back to the comics, there’s not a ton of info about Claire’s mother to draw from, so it’s interesting to hear Marvel has cast a fairly well-known actress in this role.
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, NY City.
“Sonia Braga? Rosario Dawson?”.
“A character as strong as Claire needs an equally powerful mother, and with Sonia we found the ideal actress to deliver the stellar performance we needed”, says executive producer, Jeph Loeb. As we mentioned earlier, Simone Missick will play Misty Knight, Frank Whaley portrays an NYPD detective, Theo Rossi has been enlisted to play villain Shades, Mahershala Ali will play Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes and Emmy award victor Alfre Woodard portrays Black Mariah.

Those who’ve seen Marvel’s Daredevil or the more recent Jessica Jones will be familiar with Claire, who’s made appearances in both series, and is said to develop a close bond with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage. Coker is writing the first two episodes of the series that will premiere in 2016, everywhere that Netflix is available.
