A Baltimore high school student stormed into a science classroom and stabbed a schoolmate in front of their horrified peers Tuesday, police said.
School police and Baltimore Police were on campus responding to the incident at Renaissance Academy, located in the 1300 block of McCulloh Street, officials said.
What’s supposed to be a place of learning turned to a bloody crime scene when police say 17-year-old Donte Crawford walked into a classroom and stabbed a fellow classmate multiple times. Smith would not say if the knife used in the attack had been recovered.
It was not known what led to the stabbing, Smith said. His department conducts safety checks at the school, and he said metal detectors are on hand.

The suspect was taken into custody not too far from the school, according to police.
