It looks like Elisabeth Hasselbeck is stepping down as co-host on Fox & Friends to focus on family (i.e.to return to The View eventually)!

She gave her thanks to FOX Chairman Roger Ailes for his support and leadership of the network, and expressed gratitude to co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade saying that she would devote all of her remaining time to them, calling them both “truly family”.

‘I’ve had the privilege and honor of bringing you the news, rather than being it. I have a ton of respect for you all here and you at home, so I want to share with you what’s been on my heart, ‘ Hasselbeck said.

“Outside of today and my last day, I will declare the time in between a no-cry zone, but I will permit emotion to run where it is permitted to run on this day now”, the Fox News anchor said while fighting back tears.

Hasselbeck said in her statement on Monday that her decision to leave is based on her desire to put motherhood first. “But also the most kind, thoughtful and supportive boss that I’ve known as he walked me through this decision-making, which wasn’t easy”. “I’m in a season where the kids need the best of me, not the rest of me”. Many women in business and in work make this decisions in cycles of their parenting and work lives…

Brood: She and her husband, former pro-football quarterback and current ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck, have three children together – 10-year-old Grace Elisabeth, 8-year-old Taylor Thomas and 6-year-old Isaiah Timothy. “She has been a great addition to the “Fox & Friends” franchise”. Hasselback became the center of Internet fodder for her uninformed and often-extreme conservative opinions that included victim blaming Sandra Bland, demanding a test before voting, and her mumble-jumble understanding of the Middle East. “This is a really really hard decision and I know that it’s the right one”, she shared.
