Tattoo Circuits Are The New Wearable Tech

Brace yourselves for futuristic wearables: biometric tech tattoos could soon replace regular fitness bands simply because they are much more efficient and comfortable.

Tattoos may not be everyone’s cup of tea but the wearable applications in these latest biometric tattoos, developed by Chaotic Moon in Texas, are bound to appeal to many that are not up for getting a permanent tattoo.

But as well as holding health tracking benefits, the tech tattoo can also function as your wallet.

The next feature that I will introduce to you might arise suspicions among users.

The tattoos could also be used for location-tracking. Instead of wearing a temporary (and cumbersome) chest strap or arm cuff to monitor a patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, or other vitals, a circuit board tattoo could be applied to their arm that would wirelessly communicate with a smartphone app to keep tabs on them. This is not something that can be easily removed like a Fitbit. The device is even more appealing to parents, who can use the tat to get a heads-up as to whether their children are falling ill, which can especially be beneficial if their child or children does not necessarily yet have the communication skills to verbalize exactly how they’re feeling. If temporary tech tattoos are widely accepted by the public, production will be boosted, too.

They claim that their product can be viewed as wearable technology, that interacting with the users’ wrist, can perform a multitude of tasks and record a large quantity of data about their current health status.

“This is really going beyond what the fitness tracker is, and we’re right now looking into the medical field specifically because there are a lot of monitoring devices that take up a lot of room and space”, said Eric Schneider, Chaotic Moon’s creative technologist.

Investors are already showing signs of interest towards the new tattoo-based technology. “It’s technology that is, in a sense, part of the user”. Soon, we could see mic tattoos from Motorola – a redefinition of mobile and wearable devices.
