Browns ‘disappointed’ with Johnny Manziel’s behavior
Manziel had previously been offered the chance by coach Mike Pettine to start every game for the remainder of the season, but the emergence of a video that appeared to show him drinking alcohol during the Brown’s bye week has prompted a rethink.

After Manziel promised he would not embarrass the Browns during their bye week, a video and photos of him partying in Texas last weekend surfaced Monday.
Pettine said he would meet with his assistants and Manziel to discuss the team’s plans. “I’m especially disappointed in his actions and behavior because he has been working very hard”, Pettine said in a statement quoted by Daily Mail.
Controversial quarterback Johnny Manziel’s reign as a starter for the Cleveland Browns proved short-lived as the National Football League franchise dumped the youngster one day after a video of him partying hit social media sites.
Pettine said he was still gathering information about the video before he makes a decision on Manziel’s playing status.
“The improvements from last year to this year have been tremendous but he still has to consistently demonstrate that he has gained a good understanding of what it takes to be successful at the quarterback position on this level”, said the coach.
On Wednesday’s PFT Live, Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland will join Mike Florio to discuss the team’s decision and whether it means that the Browns have closed the door on Manziel’s future with the team.
Manziel’s erratic off-field behavior has been an issue with the Browns (2-8) since he was drafted in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
“It goes well beyond the field. We always say to whom much is given, much is expected, and that’s true for all of our players”, Pettine noted.

“You have a vision of what you want the team to look like, how you want them to handle themselves when they’re out of the building”. Manziel has apologized for the incident, saying they just had a misunderstanding.
