Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2: James Gunn on latest rumours
However you feel about the announcement by Umberto Gonzalez that he had the inside scoop on who Peter Quill’s father is in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, the suggestion that it might be Kree superhero Mar-Vell is a hugely intriguing one. “Eventually someone will actually spoil some detail of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, he adds in his sign off. “So this will be my last comment squelching a rumor until May 2017”. Now we have a report from Heroic Hollywood that it has figured out who’s going to be the daddy.

Marvel has so far been quiet, but the writer and director of the movie, James Gunn, certainly hasn’t.
According to the site, Mar-Vell is going to be Peter Quill’s dad. He claims that he has four different sources to back up his claim.
Gunn’s about to be a busy man. So it’s understandable that in his latest post on his very active Facebook page, Gunn has self-declared a gag order on commenting about Guardians 2 rumors.
I get the desire to get “scoops” on character inclusion and casting choices, etc. But since when is a plot spoiler a “scoop”?
“We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don’t think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all this because we have our own galaxy to take care of”, Gunn said. Spoilers suck, and hearing them months ahead of the movie’s release is even worse.
After rumors concerning the identity of Quill’s long lost father – supposedly a major plot point in the upcoming sequel – swirled earlier this year, Gunn shot down theories that Bradley Cooper had spoiled anything in a bungled interview with MTV.

Recent reports state that the end of Captain America: Civil War will have Vision leave Earth to travel vast cosmos in the galaxy and is rumoured to appear in Thor: Ragnarok and possibly in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Whether or not to partake in spoilers, when they exist, comes down to a personal decision on the part of the reader or fan.
