“I feel sad telling you guys to go, but the truth is that only 21 players will have to make the trip to Senegal, and these selected ones are those the technical crew have seen to be able to give us an Olympic ticket in Senegal”, Siasia told the NFF website.

The full list of selected players include Emmanuel Daniel, Yusuf Mohammed, Emmanuel Iwu, Segun Oduduwa, honest Seth, Azubuike Okechukwu, Ajayi Junior, Oghenekaro Etebo, Taiwo Awoniyi, Usman Mohammed, Ndifreke Effiong, Chukwuebuka Iroha, Stanley Dimgba, Godspower Aniefiok, Bature Yaro, Zaradeen Bello, Amaefule Chizoba, Seun Olulayo, Tiongoli Tonbara, Kufre Ebong and Victor Osimhen.

Siasia released the list in Banjul, after the team’s second friendly game against the Gambian U-20 national team.

The tournament, which starts on Saturday, will also serve as qualifying tournament for next year’s Rio Olympics.

The finals take place from 28 November to 12 December.

However with the U23 African Cup of Nations coming up in November, Siasia had made contact with both the player and his club side as he sought to strengthen his squad and increase his side’s chances of becoming one of Africa’s representatives to next year’s summer’s Olympics in Rio.
