Adele Has Already Sold 2.3 Million Copies Of “25”

Further, by the end of the day Monday, it should surpass the single-week sales record, now held by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, which debuted with 2,416,000 sold in the week ending March 26, 2000.

Fresh off her appearance on “Saturday Night Live” that included a now-viral sketch, Adele is now aiming for an appearance in the record books as sales of her new album, “25,” are set to break ‘NSync’s record for its first week. “The projections I’ve seen are putting it at around 2.9 million (for the first week)”.

Adele’s independent record label, XL Recordings, had previously announced that the album would not be available on Apple Music, Spotify or other major streaming services. Over three days, “25” has sold over 538,000 copies in the UK.

The song has been No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart for four consecutive weeks.

Bakula said that it should easily double the 1.29 million first-week figure that Taylor Swift’s “1989” registered in October 2014, which became the fast-selling album in more than a decade.

The album “25” is the follow up to her 2011 breakout album “21” which won multiple Grammys including Album of the Year and had sales of more than 11 million.
