Couple charged after toddler found dead, burned inside home oven
Court records didn’t list attorneys for either Malone, 21, or Thompson, 25. Both remain jailed, each with bonds totaling $36,000, after their arrests Tuesday morning. The oven was tipped over, turned to the highest degree, with the baby trapped inside.

Racqual Thompson, 25, and her 21-year-old boyfriend, Cornell Malone, both face four counts of child endangerment for leaving Thompson’s four children home alone for nearly three hours on the night of November 16, according to charging documents obtained by People.
A mother and her boyfriend have been charged over the death of her 19-month-old daughter, who was severely burned after she was put inside an oven by two of her older siblings, police have said.
One of her three-year-old siblings told Child Protective Services (CPS) they put her in the oven, while the other three-year-old made it “hot”. Tilley added the couple had been bragging about not being charged with anything: “They were saying that it wasn’t their fault and that they’re gonna get away with it, and they weren’t there and this and that”.
Authorities said no suitable relatives were found after the tragedy to look after the children and they have since been placed in foster care. At that time, she has said they went to pick up a pizza and then had to stop and pick up a prescription. The child was found next to an oven and she had severe burns, police said.
CPS has declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death as the court records it filed in the case have since been sealed by a judge.
Police claim the couple put the kids to bed at 8 p.m. and headed out to get food and visit Malone’s brother.
“To see my kids or even have my kids back with me, where they need to be, protected by their dad, so nothing like what they’ve been through will happen, ever again”, said Price.
Neighbors told abc13 the mother would leave the children behind regularly.
Their grandfather, Frederick Price, is seeking custody of the three children. She also has an older child who lives with their father.
