LSU coach Les Miles: “I’d like to think there’s another 11 years”
With word that Les Miles may not be LSU’s head coach for much longer, Class of 2016 four-star quarterback Feleipe Franks felt the need to decommit from the program on Monday, as Luke Stampini of Geaux 247 reported. I love the place, I work hard. “But I don’t think it would be money, if he leaves, it would be wanting to go back to the SEC or the prestige of coaching in the SEC…” I’m working on the game plan, and I like that.

Miles, who is under contract through 2019, would be due a $15 million buyout if he is fired before January 1. “I have a policy I don’t speak about jobs”. The Tigers now have the No. 2-ranked recruiting class for 2016 and, just three weeks ago, were 7-0 and No. 2 nationally. “I’m fortunate to be the head coach here”.
Miles now has the best winning percentage (.774) of any coach in the past 100 years of LSU football, and he’s won a national title and two SEC championships. Miles said earlier in the day he would not beg for his job.
Offering any fodder for the media does nobody any favors at LSU or FSU, and Fisher knows this. even if Fisher is interested in the possibility of becoming the next coach at LSU, serving up a hint of interest publicly is a bad move for Fisher, his staff at Florida State, Seminoles players, Miles, LSU’s coaching staff and LSU’s players. Prior to LSU’s game against Ole Miss in Oxford last Saturday, Alleva declined to address Miles’ position, a silence that only made the rumors and belief Miles would be dismissed louder. “I’m not going to comment on any job in any way, shape or form”.
But why? I wouldn’t say he has an easy pass through the ACC, but considering he knows these opponents so well.
Miles called the distractions of his job “prevailing and evident”, he said Wednesday night.
“We’ll fill his position very capably”, Miles said.
“It was regarding another issue”, he said. “It was a business matter, not to do with anything pertinent to these questions”. “At some point in time there’s a me in this”.
