Broncos’ backup Osweiler to start again in place of Manning

Despite the disappointing news, Broncos fans shouldn’t be anxious about missing the playoffs. Since the start of the 2008 season, they have met eight times, twice in the postseason.

Now, all of that talk will have to be tabled for now as it is Osweiler’s time to shine against the only undefeated team in the AFC. If you wanted to see what kind of metal Brock Osweiler and Gary Kubiak are made of, you only have to wait until Sunday to find out. Aaron Dobson, who injured his ankle in the Bills game also is likely unavailable for the Broncos.

Then, Week 10 of the 2015 season came along and Mr. Osweiler got his oppurtunity. The Broncos are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Compared to what the Broncos defense can do to hurt the Patriots, Manning and Osweiler don’t register much of a blip.

Harris said Osweiler deserves kudos for being willing to learn from Peyton Manning as his backup for all these years. With only 16 games, though, teams need to play all their stars until their seeding is secure.

“The great thing about Brock is he’s been practicing with us”.

With Manning out, the Broncos will rely on Osweiler to spearhead their offense as they aim to advance to the play-offs.

A solid Osweiler and a healthy Manning is a nice dilemma to have. On Sunday he led the team to a 17-15 victory over the Chicago Bears, in Chicago.

Manning, meantime, flew to Charlotte to get a second opinion on his plantar fasciitis, a painful foot injury.

Mathis needs to get healthy and start playing better, or else a player like Garcia could replace him in the starting lineup.

-Brock Osweiler can hold down the fort. Manning is visiting with a foot specialist and he is hoping to get back under center soon, while Ronnie Hillman is a top fantasy football start option for team owners over CJ Anderson against the Pats.

Reiss: Yes and yes.

The Broncos were without Emmanuel Sanders for that game, so perhaps that had something to do with the target distribution, but it just seems like Osweiler is probably a better fit for Kubiak’s system. When he plays like this, anything is possible for the team. Said Belichick when asked if he pulls guys aside to let them know if more will be expected of them in a given week.

If anyone thought that Peyton Manning was done, they’d better think again.

Legwold: Mike, that is the 12,000-pound elephant in all of the rooms for the Broncos.

The Broncos offense is actually built for the big play, which is why this season has been so frustrating. But it comes down to his health and his ability to move past the injuries he has now.
