Quarterback Cam Newton threw five short touchdown passes as the Carolina Panthers won their 10th game in a row, smashing the Washington Redskins 44-16 on Sunday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium.

A lot has been made of Cam Newton’s showmanship this season, as the Panthers quarterback seems to be getting under the skin of opposing players, coaches and fans with his elaborate dances and celebrations.
The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2015 National Football League season with great odds at making the playoffs, and were actually the third best odds in the NFC to make it to the Super Bowl, after only the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. Said Panthers defensive end Kony Ealy (one sack against the Redskins, four for the season): “We don’t know our own strength sometimes”.

Meantime, they also lost running back Justin Forsett with a broken arm in the first quarter.
But the game undoubtedly changed in the second quarter, when cornerback Chris Culliver intercepted a Newton pass and took it back for what would have been a go-ahead pick-six. In past seasons he was more likely try to scramble for yardage rather than adjust in the pocket and complete a pass on his 2 or 3 read.
Newton passed 21-of-34 for 246 yards with no interceptions and two sacks for a high QBR of 92.9 and rating of 123.3.

Meanwhile, Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck completed 23 of 32 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Romo overcame two interceptions by throwing TD passes to Terrance Williams and to Dez Bryant in Miami Gardens, Fla. Newton has 102 touchdown passes and 39 rushing touchdowns. Though Stewart isn’t known for taking over games, as he has just for over 100 yards just twice this season, his physical, aggressive running style adds a necessary edge to this offense that allows Newton to capitalize on worn down defenses. The 5-5 NY Giants lead the NFC East, followed by Washington and Philadelphia – who were thumped 45-17 by the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers to fall to 4-6.
