The defending National Basketball Association champions the Golden State Warriors went into their game against the Los Angeles Lakers looking to set a new record for the best start to a season in National Basketball Association history.

Klay Thompson had 11 points but missed his first seven shots and, as has been the case in a handful of these wins, the Warriors took a few minutes to get rolling – and then they were off and running. This turned into a mini-goal a couple games ago, we accomplished it. We just have bigger problems.
The Warriors surpassed the 15-0 starts of the 1948-1949 Washington Capitals and the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets, playing in front of a standing-room-only crowd at Oracle Arena.
“I know his mentality is that he can still play in this league”, Scott said. “We have to be proud of those kinds of moments”. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, they are the second team to sink more threes than the opposition in each of its first 16 games. What’s more, they have three stretches with three-games in four nights.
The Warriors blistering start to the season however remains well short of the longest winning streak in history, which continues to be the 33-game run set by the Lakers in the 1971-72 season.
“Is it likely? No”, Walton said.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry signs autographs before the game against the Los Angeles Lakers in Oakland on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
The Warriors had 32 assists and just eight turnovers in the game.
Yes, Curry spoke of winning with such gusto that given the opportunity to do so, he wouldn’t rule out perfection. We take a closer look at their numbers throughout the streak. To actually break the record on a night where we were sharing the ball and taking care of the ball, not turning the ball over.
Paul Millsap contributed 25 points as the Atlanta Hawks eased past the Boston Celtics 121-97, while Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan scored 18 apiece to help the Los Angeles Clippers to a 111-94 victory over the Denver Nuggets, who have now lost four in a row. It was the Lakers icon’s lowest score of the season having reached double digits in each of his previous 10 appearances.
Clearly it is hard for Bryant to all of sudden change how he plays but the Lakers guard is averaging 15.2 points on 31.1 percent shooting from the field and 19.5 percent from 3. With the game in hand, Curry sat out the entire fourth quarter.
At times the game resembled a training exercise for the Warriors as they sprinted into a 30-11 first quarter lead against their outclassed opponents, effectively scoring at will. No Golden State starter even saw the floor in the final frame.
Kobe Bryant had shot 14 times, missing 13 of them.

“The challenge for them is going to be conflict”, Bryant explained.
