Travelers take to the roads and the skies for Thanksgiving
“I like travelling around the time of the holidays because you see different families, you get the chance to meet people hear about their stories, and talk about thanksgiving dinners!”

This marks the seventh consecutive year of growth for Thanksgiving travel. A month ago, it was $2.21 and a year ago it was $2.81. Gas there Wednesday was $1.75 a gallon for regular unleaded.
“I’m a college student, so who doesn’t like to save a little bit of money?” said Justin Chung, of NY.
The low prices are due to a number of factors, but the biggest is the massive decrease in global crude oil prices over the previous year and a half.
Almost 60 percent of USA gas stations are selling gas for less than $2 per gallon and prices are still falling, said Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis for the Oil Price Information Service, which tracks energy prices worldwide. “We are surprised that it happened so quickly”.
“In MA we are predicting that 1,034,000 residents will travel – 900,000 by auto”, said AAA Northeast spokesperson Mary Maguire.
The busiest day at SFO and Oakland global Airport will be Sunday as travelers return from trips to family and friends, airport officials said. Trooper Dan Loussaert from the Iowa State Patrol said they will be looking for unbuckled drivers, people following too closely, and distracted drivers.
“We cannot overemphasize the need to slow down, drive alert and take every precaution to protect yourself and your passengers”, said Marc Mastronardi, a state construction engineer. “Holiday travel means crowded roadways, especially with lower gas prices”.
Do you mind being on the road with all these drivers?
Another thing motorists will need to pay attention to is the weather.

“The fatality numbers are certainly a cause for concern as we expect heavy travel volumes over the coming days”, said Leroy Smith, SC Department of Public Safety director, in a Tuesday news release. “That is likely to continue through Friday”. “This would have brought a ton of problems if it was cold”.
