Ryan says Bills need to get receiver Watkins more involved

The officials ruled the ball was dead at the spot of the catch, a 14-yard gain.

NFL Officiating – Gene Steratore is supposed to be on of the best officials in the league, he looked like the worst on Monday.

So it should come as no shock when his response to a question about whom he rather have as a head coach nearly made fellow “Monday Night Football” analyst Steve Young burst into a fit of laughter.

Ryan said he felt disrespected by the officials’ decision to penalize him, pondering whether counterpart Bill Belichick would have received the same treatment.

But Brady didn’t have one of his best days against the Bills. Bills coach Rex Ryan had been on the sideline yelling as Brady was scrambling in his direction. We’ll never know, barring an admission, but observers quickly noted that Walker’s call would have been the right one in college.

“I don’t think that’s an excuse”. New England will get the bump because they’ve been here before, however we need to really discuss the difference in perception between these teams. That number also didn’t account for the ferocity of the hits, like the one when defensive end Jerry Hughes appeared to stick the crown of his helmet underneath Brady’s chin.

Watkins said earlier in the season that he thought he should have the ball thrown his way 10 times a game, but he didn’t repeat that thought this week. Brady finished the contest 20 of 39 for 277 yards, 1 touchdown pass and 1 pick.

As for the status of a number of other banged-up players, the Bills coach didn’t sound so sure. “You got to give them credit”.

By our count, Brady took an average time of 2.45 seconds from snap-to-throw, which is by far his highest mark of the season.

Yards-per-game will tell you that the Patriots are the better team here. Now covering his beloved hometown team, his knowledge and passion for pro football has resulted in multiple fantasy football championships. “We’re not at that level right now, but I can promise you one thing we’re going to work our tails off to get there”.

Instead, Walker ruled Watkins had given himself up inbounds to end the Patriots’ 20-13 victory.

The inadvertent whistle is justly getting most of the attention, but the Patriots’ 20-13 win over the Bills was a awful game all around for the zebras.

The Bills got the points back with 9:27 left in the second quarter. The wide receiver caught six passes for 95 yards but could have added to that had Taylor hit him more often. That particular drive sputtered out, and the near-automatic Gostkowski missed a 54-yard field goal. Occasionally, Gronkowski was guarded by cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Ronald Darby, but the key was to play physical with the tight end throughout the game so that he couldn’t get free releases off the line of scrimmage.

15 – Consecutive years that the Patriots have had a winning record in the AFC East, the longest streak by any team since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970.

Fumbled punts didn’t help either.

Undoubtedly, the Bills won’t have much of a chance to win at raucous Arrowhead Stadium if Taylor can’t play because of the shoulder injury he suffered Monday in New England. By the latter part of the third quarter of this game, he had a receiving and rushing touchdown.

“Look, I made a mistake tying into what was effective the year before, running similar defenses to what they had done the year before”, he said.
