This Huawei-built chip is paired with an i5 co-processor, which Huawei boasts provides hardware support for tasks including speech recognition, low-power consumption MP3, all the functions of a sensor hub, fused location provider navigation and reduced location-based power consumption. Huawei is actually using an all-new sensor from Sony, dubbed the IMX298. The camera is capable of recording 4K video, of course, and you can also record 60fps 1080p videos as well as 120fps slow motion in 720p. This effect is achieved by using of a 2.5D glass cover placed on top of the display. On the front, we find an 8 megapixel selfie camera, which is similar in terms of specs to the one used on the Mate S.
As you can check out in the images, the Mate 8 is a reflection of Huawei’s attraction towards metal. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G, 4G.
