Storm Barney to hit United Kingdom with gusts of up to 80mph
The Met Office have issued a “Yellow Weather Warning” for most of Wales, which has been put in place from 4pm this evening through to 2am tomorrow morning.

Wales and through the Bristol Channel is expected to be worst hit, while southern, central and eastern England will experience unsettled weather on Tuesday.
“Over exposed hills, coasts and headlands, such as on coasts of west Wales, winds may gusts over 80 miles per hour”, the Met Office said.
Winds of that speed would likely bring disruption to travel, and could bring down trees and damage weakened structures.
Meteorologist, Eric Leister, added: “Barney will be a fast-moving storm, bringing locally strong winds to southern Ireland and the southern United Kingdom beginning midday Tuesday and continuing into Tuesday night”.
The Met Office announced on Monday that the storm would be named Barney – the second in a series of names chosen by the public, following Storm Abigail.
With the ground already saturated, officials said communities should prepare for more floods and beware of the danger posed by swollen waterways and standing flood water.
“We will be monitoring the situation and will be issuing flood alerts and warnings if necessary while our staff ensure flood defences are secure”.
Winds of up to 70mph battered the South coast as Storm Barney arrived in the United Kingdom yesterday (Tuesday, November 17).
Abigail left more than 20,000 homes without power as it swept across Britain.
“It brings the potential for travel disruption and could bring down trees”.
And Britain’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has warned people not to take selfies during the bad weather as the blustery winds hit southern parts tonight.
Barney will also bring “very moist tropical air”, which could lead to “further bouts of persistent and, at times, heavy rain”.
