Album of the Week: 25, by Adele
It took 25 just three days to achieve triple platinum ARIA accredited sales in Australia, which means the album has sold an incredible 210,000 units in less than a week.

British singer Adele’s new album 25 sold at least 2.3 million copies in its three days of release in the United States, a record-setting pace that positions the album to smash even the highest sales projections, Nielsen Music said on Monday.
A loophole in music licensing laws gave Pandora and other streaming radio stations like iHeartRadio and Slacker access to the complete 25 album, which sold 3 million copies in its first week. Her music video for “Hello”, released just last month, has already been viewed more than 400 million times.
Adele made news last week when the singer and her record labels Columbia and XL made the strategic decision to restrict the album from being streamed on any streaming service including Apple Music and Spotify.
Pandora is now the envy of all the other streaming sites because Adele’s latest album “25” is now available on this radio website and not on any of the other popular online streaming services.
‘We officially say Bye Bye Bye as @Adele says Hello to the World Record of Most Albums Sold In a Single Week.
So far this year, Taylor Swift’s pop blockbuster has sold around 1.8 million copies.
But Adele is just getting started!
Adele is breaking hearts and records. But her success likely owes more to the fact that Adele is a rare artist whose appeal crosses genres and fan demographics. The eighth album by the Barbadian shape-shifter Rihanna, “Anti-“, reportedly will be available exclusively to subscribers of the high-quality streaming service Tidal during its first week of release, which is expected to commence on Friday.
Fatone seemed pleased that Adele was the songstress who has broken their record as he recently opened up to Billboard magazine.

By contrast, in 2000, that same ‘N Sync album, “No Strings Attached”, sold 9.9 million copies and Eminem’s “Slim” was behind that with 7.92 million.
