Tony Romo helps team end seven-game losing

They simply didn’t have the horses, and were put in awful positions at times (why is a linebacker covering Dez Bryant?).

To be precise, however, the Cowboys’ defense probably carded the day’s most dominating performance.

It’s been just one game back, but Romo is going to be the x-factor for the Cowboys in a game that holds playoff implications.

But quarterback Tony Romo returned after a seven-game absence and brought hope and hype back to the Cowboys.

It was no surprise that Romo, Dallas’s starting quarterback for essentially the past decade, provided an offensive spark in his return. “You know our schedule”. “It’s going to be hard. It’s a dream, but not a fantasy”. Last year, they had to come back from another East coast trip, but that was a night game.

Romo, so sayeth the box score, did not part the clouds for the Cowboys on Sunday.

In the fourth quarter, Dallas’ main passer found wide receiver Dez Bryant for his second touchdown pass (16 yards) which also gave the Cowboys a 10-point lead. At times, he looked rusty.

“Tony talked to us, and what he said really stayed with me”.

Save for Mike Pouncey having a snap issue, as well as Jason Fox and Dallas Thomas being Jason Fox and Dallas Thomas, I can’t complain too much about the offensive line.

Oh, now you want to come around Mincey?

That’s right, Dallas won a football game.

The Cowboys went up two scores when they added a field goal midway through the fourth quarter. Garrett, though, pointed out that the schedule was more challenging previous year.

Dallas has the second-best chance of winning its remaining games, per ESPN’s Football Power Index, when compared to the team’s division foes. “We really hurt ourselves”.

Here we go for another spin on the mediocrity merry-go-round. We didn’t handle that situation very well. “I don’t have to do anything more”. Romo would strike with two great passes to Terrance Williams and just like that, the Cowboys were celebrating in the end zone. The 2006 Colts were 9-0 before losing to the Cowboys 21-14.

The Panthers (10-0) scored 27 points off five Washington turnovers, three of those by quarterback Kirk Cousins.

“Romo made a difference”, Mincey told reporters after the game. But he warmed up nicely, completing nine of 12 passes in the second half to finish 18 of 28 for 228 yards and two touchdowns.

But on Sunday they gave up 166 rushing yards on 38 attempts. Not bad for a player picked up on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first quarter, Rolando McClain got Dallas on the board with a 12 yard interception return for a touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.

He nonetheless obliged for a quick on-camera interview to air on NFL Network – two brief questions to discuss both the game that was now an hour behind him and the one that was only four days ahead of him. His success in the passing game against the Dolphins came nearly entirely out of shotgun.

TEXANS 24, JETS 17: In Houston, DeAndre Hopkins had two touchdown catches and Alfred Blue caught a TD pass from receiver Cecil Shorts to help Houston win three games in a row for the first time since 2012. Had they done that, it’s Cowboys ball inside the Miami five. But Romo directed a late 5½-minute drive that sealed Dallas’ win.
