Leading Republican presidential aspirant Donald Trump has triggered yet another controversy by mocking a journalist’s physical disability during a campaign rally, drawing rebuke from many.
Donald Trump is facing serious backlash after he mocked a disabled reporter during a campaign stop earlier in the week, and now a petition has been started seeking a formal letter of apology from Trump.
Kovaleski worked for the Washington Post in 2001 and investigated those reports immediately after the terror attack.
According to the campaign official, Trump “was merely emphasising the uncertainty of the statement provided by the reporter in regards to his article”. The New York NY Times, where Kovaleski is presently a reporter, additionally had a response to the incident: “We think it’s outrageous in that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters”, a Times spokeswoman told Politico & confirmed to Business Insider.

Even so, Trump has pointed to the Post story as backing up his claim and took issue with Kovaleski’s recent statement that he did not remember anyone alleging that large numbers of Muslims were celebrating. “That was not the case, as best as I can remember”.
