EVA Air confirms largest ever order
Passengers may feel a bit concerned traveling in the short term, but such uneasiness should not last long, EVA Air Chairman Chang Kuo-wei said Tuesday during a signing ceremony to finalize Taiwan’s largest-ever single airplane order with Boeing.

On November 24, also, Boeing announced that Singapore-based lessor BOC Aviation is intending to order 11 more 737-800s and 11 more 737 MAX 8s, in a deal which Boeing will add to its online Orders & Deliveries totals when the purchase is finalized.
“EVA participated in development of the Boeing 777-300ER and became a launch customer in 2005”.
The airline will use the 24 Boeing 787-10s and two 777-300ERs to support growth plans in coming years, EVA President Austin Cheng said in a statement.
EVA will take advantage of the Dreamliner to launch new long, thin routes to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, where the demand is not enough for the 777 fleet. The new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner’s high fuel efficiency and long-range flying capabilities meet these requirements and our operational needs. Production will start next year with the first 787-10 scheduled for delivery in 2018.
The 26 aircraft will be delivered between 2017 and 2022, helping EVA Airways hit its objective to operate more than 100 aircraft by 2020.
Seth says the new rate will reflect Boeing’s planned shift toward 12 Dreamliners a month, from the current 10.
EVA Airways’ 777-300ER fleet continues to grow and the carrier is the world’s eighth largest 777-300ER operator in the world and fourth largest in Asia. “With today’s order, Boeing is proud to continue playing an integral role in revolutionising Taiwan’s aviation history as EVA becomes one of the first customers around the world to operate the 787-10”, said Ray Conner, president & CEO of Boeing’s commercial aircraft unit.

The 787-10 will be the third and longest member of the super-efficient 787 family.
