Adele – 25 (Album Review)
Today Adele performs “Million Years Ago” off her new album, 25, on Wednesday’s “Today” show. Since “Hello” was added to our platform last month, her total station adds are up 1200%.

The Billboard 200 chart tallies units from album sales, song sales (10 songs equal one album) and streaming activity (1,500 streams equal one album).
Bieber’s album, which critics have widely lauded, also shattered Spotify’s global record for most streams in the first week of an album’s release after logging 205-million streams across the globe, according to Nielsen Music. The record was previously held by *Nsync’s “No Strings Attached”, which sold 2.4 million copies in its first seven days back in 2000. The NSync album sold 2.41 million copies in its first week.
After processing initial sales reports through November 24, the set has sold at least 2.8 million copies in the U.S.
What do you think about Adele’s decision to keep 25 from streaming services? After her rip-roaring successful comeback, it’s perhaps no surprise that the Brit’s new album 25 has become the best-selling album of the year. The Adele team is yet to make a comment on this new development.

What’s more, the album is on course to be the fastest-selling of all time in the UK. The record keeping for this title begins in 1991 when Nielsen initiated its Soundscan method of accurately tracking retail record sales. Since its format is very different from online streaming sites, the rules preventing streaming services from carrying songs and albums that artists specifically stated shouldn’t be on streaming sites do not apply to Pandora. “It was a flattering luxury knowing we sold more records than anyone in a week but it’s also nice seeing people continue to be passionate about music in the next generations”. A number of artists have had especially impressive years in terms of album sales although none of them are likely to have serious play for second place on the year-end list.
