Have Philadelphia Eagles ‘Quit’ On Chip Kelly? Agent For Eagles Starter

“Chip Kelly has lost the team”, said the agent, who requested anonymity because of fear of retribution against his client.

“The momentum and signs seem to be piling up against a Chip return to Philadelphia”. I think they do fire him, and he goes back to the college ranks and wins National Titles and all that because his style of coaching is tailor made for college programs. Questions are being raised about Kelly’s future with the team.

Schefter’s says it is “his read, from afar”. “There was a part in that game where we all kind of tuned it out in the fourth quarter, but the truth is there was a part in that game where when you’re watching that team and you’re saying they’re quitting”. “It was an ugly scene”, Schefter said. “You know they are still in the thick of that division race, let’s not forget that”. I think we can say that.

“I never said his days in Philadelphia are numbered”.

Schefter himself is apparently upset with how the tweet was portrayed.

Philadelphia’s offense has taken a dive from a season ago, and a number of Kelly’s moves this offseason haven’t panned out. No secret, Philly is sick of Kelly (including the players) and Kelly is sick of Philly. Knee-jerk Eagles fans were sick of Andy Reid for years.

The other possibility is vexing and problematic, because it carries short- and long-term complications: What if, deep down when he’s alone with his thoughts, Kelly really does believe that the Eagles are a good football team? We can see that their offensive struggles are due to the fact that he has completely remade the roster and left the cupboard dry. Kelly assembled a tremendously talented team here, but perhaps he’s just not the guy who can make it all click. Not 24 hours after they dropped their second straight game to a team a lot of people expected them to handle, Kelly looked into a host of cameras that were recording his every word and, with a straight face, claimed the Eagles “have a really good football team”. The most obvious are trading running back LeSean McCoy, and signing DeMarco Murray after bringing in Ryan Mathews on a cheaper deal.
